Shoptalk 2024 has come and gone, and GroupBy had a monumental presence on the show floor. From exciting announcements to insightful AI sessions and product demonstrations, our team was busy connecting with retailers and industry leaders alike. Here's a quick recap of our week in Vegas at the conference:

Engaging Sessions

At Shoptalk 2024 we had the pleasure of hosting thought leadership sessions with retail experts Joyce Muller, Director of Retail Solutions at SADA and our own, Arv Natarajan, Director of Product. Attendees were immersed in topics like large language models and provided with actionable tips on getting started with AI to boost sales and stay ahead of the curve.     Attendees got a deep dive into how this AI tech is transforming retail as we know it. Those who joined this session learned how to understand LLM’s core concepts, unlock their potential for retail applications, and discover how they can transform business for B2B and B2C brands.

    This session provided 10 actionable tips for brands to get started with AI. Attendees learned about everything from data collection and testing to embracing AI-first solutions to stay ahead of the curve. They discovered how, with cutting-edge AI strategies, B2B and B2C businesses can improve key KPI metrics and boost revenue.

  • The Future of Retail Search

    We shared our vision and strategy for unlocking eCommerce growth and revolutionizing eCommerce through AI-first search and discovery solutions. Our vision, strategic focus, and exciting product roadmap offered valuable insights for retailers seeking an edge in the competitive online marketplace.

Connecting with the Retail Community

The GroupBy booth was a hub of activity throughout the week. We had the pleasure of connecting with hundreds of retailers and industry partners, discussing their biggest challenges and showcasing how GroupBy can help them achieve their goals.

We heard from many on the event floor that they’re ready to take the next step from talking about AI and its potential to transform the industry. Brands are excited to leverage the technology to drive efficiencies, create more seamless processes, and improve the customer experience. The majority consensus was that AI is not over or underhyped, but is being given the attention and awe it’s due.

One of the largest benefits brands are seeing across the board is the success that can be achieved by striking a balance between AI automation and human intervention - eliminating search rule creation tasks while allowing human intuition to provide the strategy and creative thinking needed for campaigns and projects to truly be successful.

At the end of the day, consumers want convenience, no matter the method of purchase. A personalized experience shows them the right products at the right time, reducing friction in the purchasing process and ultimately increasing the likelihood that they’ll convert into a sale.

Ultimately, many great and thoughtful conversations took place during the event. That said, one of the key takeaways this year is to stay curious about AI innovation—and we couldn’t agree more!
